The lost art of the patient’s survey
Shota Rustaveli State University, Batumi, Georgia
J. Experimental and Clinical Medicine, 2013, 5, pp.9-12
Medicine practically forgets classical method of patient’s survey and doctors allocate less and less time to complete survey of the patients. 75 % of the information necessary for the diagnosis is gained during the survey. Also, hearty conversation of the experienced doctor with the patient has a therapeutic effect, which was so familiar to our famous ancestors. It is important to allocate more time and effort to these issues when preparing students and residents.

Stroke and leukocytes
Shota Rustaveli State University, Batumi, Georgia
J. Experimental and Clinical Medicine, 2013, 5, pp.12-14
Our aim is to study interaction of cerebrovascular diseases and peripheral blood, to find new methods for prevention of this diseases. 100 patients was taking part in this study. They all where diagnosed with brain stroke at acute stage. One hour after stroke amount of neutrophils sharply rises (2-3 times more than norm) and it is directly linked to size of stroke. Because of that when lacunar ischemic stroke have had happened the amount of neutrophils is not raised, however when circulation syndrome is seen the amount of neutrophils sharply rises and it depends on size of stroke.

J. Experimental and Clinical Medicine, 2013, 5, pp.14-16
The rapid growth of the nomenclature of medicines in the 21st century is connected with a great consumption of the base of raw materials. Therefore, the search new raw material gains a serious actuality. The medicinal products are basically received from plant, animal and mineral raw materials and by the method of synthesis. Out of all mineral raw materials the particular interest by their use in medical practice gains clays, pelloids and mineral waters. Adjara is one of the regions of Georgia, rich with clays, pelloids, fresh and mineral waters, which are found on the seacoasts, as well as in the mountains. All these resources are known for the local population since the ancient times and were used to treat various diseases.
The aim of our research was to study Beshumi resort mineral resources for their use in medical practice. On the basis of the experimental studies there were investigated the micro-, and macro elementary contents of three important sources of Beshumi mineral resources: clays, pelloids and mineral waters.
In the studied samples there were detected the following micro and macro elements: Magnesium, Silicium, Sulphur, Potassium, Calcium, Ferrum etc. Based on its chemical composition, Beshumi clay can be used as a medicinal product, it is also recommended to use it as the base-wearing agent in the soft dermatological pharmaceutical products.

Shota Rustaveli State University, Batumi, Georgia
J. Experimental and Clinical Medicine, 2013, 5, pp.16-21
In the article is considered the issue about combined treatment of relapse of ovarion cancer using the hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemistry-perfusion. Authors think that the data reported indicate on the aspect of the method and show us that its use at an early stage of treatment can lead to special success, especially in that case, when we find and will use new cytostatics, which allow the penetration of the tumors greater than 5 cm. Also is perspective prevention of intraperitoneal fibrosis and healing processes, which in this case hinder the uniform distribution of cytotoxic drugs in the abdominal cavity and sometimes causes the infectious [peritonitis, anterior abdominal wall abscess and abscess from catheter] complications and perforation of intestines. Based of the foregoing, we also think that the use of a cytotoxic drugs during the operation and its combination with hyperthermia is prospective.

A POSITIVE EFFECT OF PARTIAL SPLEEN RESECTION IN TOTALLY IRRADIATED RATS ON THE MORPHOLOGICAL PICTURE OF THE LIVER
J. Experimental and Clinical Medicine, 2013, 5, pp.21-25
The purpose of the work is to determine morphological changes in the liver of totally irradiated rats in the conditions of partial splenic resection. The rats were divided into two groups; the animals of both groups were given a dose of 300R total-body X-ray irradiation from the RUM-17 roentgen apparatus. After irradiation, the rats of the II group were subjected to partial splenectomy under ether anesthesia. The experiment was over for the animals after 1, 7 and 15 days.
Microcirculatory disorders were marked in the 1st group rats; also were present pronounced dystrophic and necrotic changes, destruction of the intercellular membranes. In the rats of the II group (in comparison with the I group rats) were less prominent the dystrophic processes developing in the liver against the background of microcirculatory disorders. There was marked the reversibility of the pathological process.

ASSESSMENT OF THE TRANSFORMING GROWTH FACTOR TGF-β1 AND NEOCORTEX CHANGES AT EXPERIMENTAL ALCOHOL EMBRYOPATHY
TSMU, Departament of pathology and cytopathology; I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University,
A.Natishvili Institute of Morphology, Tbilisi, Georgia.
J. Experimental and Clinical Medicine, 2013, 5, pp.31-36
It was studied the ultra- and histostructure of the brain cortex anterior central gyri neural elements of females alcoholize – rats offspring received the solution of 35% alcohol instead of water as follows: I series - 2 months prior to pregnancy + during pregnancy; II series - 2 months prior to pregnancy + 14-21 days of pregnancy (after a placentation period). Determined the amount of TGF-β1 in pregnant rats and their issue blood by ELISA («Elisa» kit, (R @ D system, USA).
It was shown that in the control group of animals and their offspring TGF-β1 levels in the blood do not change. In alcoholized offspring synchronously with the progression of neurodegenerative changes in cerebral cortex layers cytoarchitecture is sharp increase of TGF-β1 in blood, at the same time, the axons and astrocytes structure and in their topography occur changes, indicating the blockade of TGF-β1cellular receptors, followed by the myelin ultrastructure disturbance, the brain substrate edema and the glia dislocation. Results of the study suggest the link of TGF-β1 with astrocytes and gliocapillar membranes anti-alcohol resistance.

NON-MEDICAMENTAL MANAGMENT OF THE ARTERIAL HYPERTENZIS IN THE PRIMARY HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
Akaki Tsereteli State University, Medical Faculty, Kutaisi, Georgia
J. Experimental and Clinical Medicine, 2013, 5, pp.52-56
The objective of our research was to improve the quality of primary medical services provided to patients with arterial hypertension. The research was based on the audit of medical services delivered at Kutaisi Family Medical Clinic. Medical history/map of totally 80 patients were selected.
The results of the conducted audit revealed that the quality of primary medical services provided to patients with arterial hypertension require serious improvement:
- It is necessary to increase the number of applications from the patients with arterial hypertension that requires better developed Calling System for Patients that will ensure their regular visits.
- The research has also revealed that the rate of quitting smoking among patients is only 20%. There is a need to develop individual quitting strategy for each smoker patient.
- It is also proved that the consumption of alcohol is not decreased until the safer level. Achieved result does not meet the standards and equals 45%. Standard is not also achieved in terms of institutionalizing physical exercises (43% only). Explanation to this can be inadequate attention from Primary Healthcare team to these issues as well as ignorance form the patients' side.
- As for the research on cardio protective diet it is reported to reach 83% among patients, indicating that the medical personnel is taking sufficient efforts.
It is absolutely necessary to conduct lectures and educational campaigns for patients at medical facilities about modifications of each risk factor causing arterial hypertension (non-dynamic lifestyle, smoking tobacco, excess weight, etc). It is vital to share the results of this audit with medical personnel (doctors, nurses) and conduct repeated audit in order to confirm effectiveness of the above measures taken.
